Where your tacit knowledge can change the trajectory of a business

The premise of RBV is that domain expertise – earned through years of building, selling, and leading inside a specific market – is the most reliable input to a private investment decision. Most of that expertise sits outside traditional venture, in people who never thought of themselves as investors. We built RBV to change that. If your work has put you close to a problem a founder is now trying to solve, or a market a company is now scaling into, we want your voice on the deal – either as an investor or an advisory board member - because it can change the outcome.

    Diligence that matters.
    A focused call with a founder, thoughtful feedback on a deck, a quick customer reference with someone you know. Sixty minutes from the right person is worth more than a month of secondhand analysis.

    Co-invest when you want to.
    When conviction is there, we make participating alongside RBV straightforward and easy. We do not require it. The judgment is what we are after.

    Stay close after the round.
    Another option is to join the advisory board of the business in exchange for equity. Again, not required but a more formal way of helping the company on an ongoing basis.

Please note: we are deliberate about who we route to which company. Generic advice is everywhere. Specific, timely engagement from someone who actually knows the space is rare, and rarity is the point.
