Last Call: Soctera - Wires Due 6/19

June 15, 2026· 2 min read

Red Bear Ventures Community,

We promised a last call email before Soctera closes. This is it.

As a reminder, Soctera is developing the next generation of power amplifiers for wireless communication: the critical components that determine how far, how fast, and how efficiently signals travel in 5G networks, satellite communications, radar systems, and defense electronics. Think of a power amplifier as the engine that drives every wireless signal: the better the engine, the farther and faster the signal travels.

If you've been on the fence, here's where things stand:

The round is closing. Wires are due 6/19 by 5PM ET. This is a firm deadline.

IMS 2026 — strong customer validation. Soctera had their first company booth at the International Microwave Symposium in Boston last week. The reception to their target radar and electronic warfare PA products was exceptional, including meaningful engagement from two separate divisions of a major U.S. defense prime, and an unsolicited inquiry from the largest GaN power amplifier producer in South Korea asking whether Soctera is open to them investing. That last point in particular speaks volumes: the incumbent is paying attention.

Where the round stands. Lead investors Anorak Ventures and Multiball Capital are in. 9Yards Capital and Mana Ventures have committed. The round is being finalized now.

This round is also backed by Bruce Fishbein (Cornell Engineering), a 30-year semiconductor veteran who has held senior roles at Intel, AMD, Cavium, and Marvell and who has been actively advising Soctera for nearly three years. When someone with that depth of experience in the industry chooses to write a personal check, it's a signal worth noting.

A reminder of the progress since we first introduced Soctera:

  • Wafer yield jumped from 20% to 90% — a major manufacturing de-risking milestone

  • Total non-dilutive funding reached $4M across NSF, DoD, AFRL, and CHIPS Act programs

  • Latest scientific paper featured on the cover of IEEE Electron Device Letters

  • Second full wafer run at the foundry currently underway, keeping Soctera on track for customer samples by end of 2026

We have high conviction in this team and this technology. The decision is always yours to make. That is how we operate.
